Charmaine Neville will be my guest on a phone conversation from New Orleans Thursday, March 20th, 4 o’clock, CA. time, 6 pm New Orleans. She is unbelievable. A talented musician (Jazz,Funk,R&B), Artist, Art teacher, previous restaurant owner, and more. She is generous,volunteers and donates her time, music, and heart and enthusiasm. She has the Charmaine Neville Band with Amasa Miller. As the daughter of Charles, one of the Neville Brothers she was brought up in it. She has performed with the Rolling Stones. Dr. John, Bobby McFerrin, Harry Connick Junior, Linda Ronstadt and more. She really connects with the audience. She knows everybody and everything is remarkable and unique, funny, refreshing, bold and authentic. We will be talking about the French Quarter Festival in New Orleans where we will meet up and lots more. I am excited and honored. I will have a solo show in Gallery Route One in Point Reyes Station called Twists and Turns. Opening April 5th, 3 – 5. I will be there. It seems like quite often there’s a lot of twists and turns unexpected and difficult to land. Some things that should be very easy take some twists and become time sucking and difficult. I am noticing that more and experiencing many mini disasters myself. Life is tricky. While working on a piece of art it will often take a turn or a twist on its own. Seems like a lot more twisting and turning lately but I have also seen this in some earlier paintings too. Drawing from live models has been a part of my life forever. When drawing models, animals, musicians what often makes them so beautiful is how they twist and turn. I always include some life drawings in my shows and limited edition, printed, accordion books. Bolinas Drawing Group exhibition (I am a founding member) opening same day April 5th at the Bolinas Gallery, closing 27th Next-door Bolinas Museum will have an opening reception for 3 new installations 3:-5:00 pm. This just came up.I will miss opening but call another time if you are coming.
Well now I guess you see why I haven’t been around much I’ve been in studio lockdown and really having all time suckers. It’s hard to be a person now.
I found this horse and gave it to a child I know but before I did that I had to let my little child get together with the horse now named Rose. So there’s Sunshine and I actually just finished a painting all about her Twisting and Turning. I know…
