My guest on Coastal Airwaves January 16th at 4pm will be Laure Reichek
Born in France and raised by her grandparents in a small town. Her Mother died when she was very young. She experienced the German Nazis, bombings. She was sent to boarding school by her doctor grandfather. He believed one should ameliorate the plight of people that are suffering. Laure has always been a volunteer for many Non profits towards that end. He expected her to become a doctor and then she met Jesse Reichek, a fabulous artist who changed her life.Laure was instrumental in the creation of the first homeless shelter in Petaluma and cofounder of CO TS committee on the shelter list she learned farming then taught farming to homeless persons the HLP, the homeless, independent project but she found it she has always been a volunteer supporter and leader.
I have known Laure for over 20 years having volunteered in the gallery that her artist husband of 60 years started. I remember the first time I went to her fabulous house with Land and animals that she understands and loves and she let me bring my dog Rosebud in when she was just a puppy and I was so enamored with that it was the first time out I’ve just been amazed surprised by Laure ever since. Wherever she turns up it’s something good and she’s always in it. She’s going to be accompanied by Anne Hightower who has worked her third and fourth book as her copy editor and sidekick. It’s a great team and they’ll both be coming on the radio. She at 94 has amazing and varied, experiences. Some among them were extremely difficult. She is very thoughtful and has an opinion that’s always very interesting to hear.

Usually I have an overloaded blurt with all the things I’m doing but basically I have tried to leave my days and nights open to get ready for shows in April and July. I’ve been in lockdown pretty much. I am finishing my 2 books when not dealing with a bunch of mini disasters which have happened. Some of them are related to the fact that I have what I heard on the View (my news source) is called Hurry Up Syndrome. I just tried to do too much and everybody is telling me to slow down. It is habitual but I’m not saying yes to anything new, hopefully.4 pm KWMR.org streaming, 89.9 ,90.5, 92.3 FM.

This story you won’t believe!

When I went to Fabrice’s fabulous 70th birthday (He is a big part of our Pataphysical group and leader of Green Change and lots more)The experience was unbelievable for several reasons. The Amazing!!! Part for me was when the musicians Andre Thierry {accordian} and DC washboard, asked me to play washboard with them. REALLY I thought they were kidding, but they kept at asking and there were about 150 people there so I went to the side of the stage and did it. Remarkable they gave me the A.OK SMILES. ‘So I’m not usually so big on photographs of myself but I think this one looks so like I’m having ecstasy. Earth Day with the children and ME “playing the Washboard for the first time in my life took a lesson the kids and me.
The latest party…
The latest party that I went to really was the 12th night party every year Danica puts together this amazing event and I go. There’s no way to describe it she says it’s silly, it’s fun it’s funny, it’s delicious, and they’re a great group of people that I’ve really grown to enjoy very much. So it goes like this on the first day of Christmas my true love gave to me
