My guest on Coastal Airwaves September 17th at 4 pm on KWMR will be Lawrence Batterton
Currently, he is founder of Brokerage and King Floyd’s Bar Provisions. He says “My entrepreneurial journey began early in life, and as a teen I worked as an “Ice Cream Man” – this eventually led to founding Orca’s Killer Ice Cream: Ice Cream novelty products delivered by tricycle around San Rafael. From there I got into dietary supplement manufacturing which led to founding Batterton Brokerage in 1966, my company promotes natural products throughout the Pacific Northwest. We help brands grow through product placement, education, and market consulting. Decades working with botanicals also sparked a passion for craft cocktail bitters, leading me to create King Floyd’s, now based in Point Reyes overlooking Tomales Bay at the former Point Reyes Vineyards. With deep ties to Marin and the San Geronimo Valley, I bring curiosity, a love of flavor, and an entrepreneurial spirit to both businesses. My first encounter with Lawrence was when he became a board member of Gallery Route One.He was a pro presenter of drinks. I’m a member of Gallery and appreciate him.

THE ANUAL BOX SHOWTM
The Opening Reception: was a BIG SUCCESS The Closing Celebration: AT GALLERY ROUTE ONE Friday, September 25, 5-7 PM. It’s gonna be a wild party because people really love this show. and I really think it’s one of the best box shows we’ve ever had a lot of people work really hard and I did my first real art project with my hand out of the cast finally. I was very happy that I could do it.
I finally got a treasure hunt together for kids I did it before and I really enjoyed it so much I picked out 10 boxes that I thought kids would really find and like. I think that the box show is a great art lesson because it’s so varied. 150 people get the same wooden box and what they do with it is never the same. Please bring your kids for me to feel good and then they get a little tiny reward when they finish finding the 10 boxes.
Check out live or go on line to see all boxes. Bidding closes at 10 AM on September 26. Boxes available for pickup starting at 11 AM
KWMR PARTY September 25th at the studio 5 to 7pm having another one cause the last one was so much fun. For KWMR programmers. I am looking forward to this.
One more time about my shirt. The shirt long sleeved and representing my show Coastal Airwaves finally has arrived and it looks so good I’m so proud of it. A friend gave me that image for my birthday and I was honored to use it. SO FUN. Sale of the shirt if this interests you it supports KWMR. Buying it and enjoy wearing around, go to https://radio.myshopify.com or KWMR.org Merch and see colors sizes (I think they are mens size #s).

“Drawing is the Root of Everything”In this statement Vincent van Gogh expressed the commonly held concept of the centrality of the diligent practice of drawing for almost all of visual art. His friend Paul Gauguin added poetically, “Draw out of nature by dreaming in her presence.”Perhaps best described as an eclectic art foundry, the Bolinas Drawing Group has existed for well over thirty years. Over the decades, many West Marin artists have been members and hosts. At present, its veteran member is Vickisa, and the newest addition has been Ann Vuille. SPOTLIGHT WEST MARIN will also be showing at the same time at SCA but I will not be in this one I am an artist in West Marin.

Boy, I went to that the Mystic Theatre for an event honoring Donna Jean Godchaux and it was amazing. I got to see Zion Rock her son and Maria Muldaur was singing and playing with a bunch and it was just crazy GOOD. I guess it’s AI but all these pictures of everybody you know Jerry etc., etc. but mostly Donna Jean and she was in there with Elvis and everybody on a huge screen It was amazing and it was so sweet like she was. There were so many nice people that actually knew who I was. I was amazed because I couldn’t remember anybody’s name of course. It was very special.
